Teknix TK5W1214HS 5 Series Freestanding 12kg 1400rpm Washing Machine with Steam - Titanium - A Rated

Twelve kilos is as large as domestic washing machines get, and the TK5W1214HS is for households that are genuinely running laundry every day: big families, sports kit, dog bedding, or a home where a king size duvet needs washing without a trip to the launderette. It spins at 1400rpm and carries an A energy rating.

Capacity on this scale changes how the machine is used. Fewer, fuller cycles use less water and energy overall than several small ones, so the real saving comes from loading it properly rather than from the rating alone. The 1400rpm spin then removes a substantial amount of water from bulky items, which is the difference between a duvet that dries overnight and one that stays damp for two days.

Steam assists the wash by helping release soiling at lower temperatures and relaxing creases in heavy cottons. A 15 minute quick wash is there for small, lightly worn loads so the big drum is not fired up unnecessarily, and an eco wash lowers the temperature over a longer cycle for everyday mixed washing.

Fifteen programmes, an inverter motor, an LED display and a child lock complete the specification. Dimensions are 59.5cm wide, 66cm deep and 84.5cm high, and the depth needs checking carefully as it is well beyond a standard machine. Net weight is 73kg and spin noise peaks at 72dB.
